12 - 18 Months Before Choose the date. Have a back-up date just in case. Discuss and determine the wedding budget with all parties concerned. Interview wedding planners. Pick the ceremony site, meet the Officiant. Shop for bridal gown. Start assembling guest lists... ask your fiance`s family to do the same. Visit reception sites and obtain pricing. 6 - 9 Months Before Choose and inform your bridal party. Register for gifts! Choose no more than 2 stores convenient to family & friends. Select a theme or color scheme. Shop for the bridesmaids' dresses. Book your photographer and/or videographer. Select musicians for ceremony, and Band or DJ for reception. Select florist & transportation (don't forget transportation for out-of-town guests). 4 - 6 Months Before Complete the guest list. Order the wedding invitations & guest book (if desired). Shop for wedding bands. Shop for your wedding cake (if NOT being provided by your caterer/reception site). Arrange group pricing at hotels near your reception site for out-of-town guests. Reserve groom's and groomsmen's attire. Shop for wedding insurance (ESPECIALLY if you're planning an outoor event)

2 - 4 Months Before Check with county clerk's office about marriage license requirements. Book honeymoon (don't forget passport, visas, vaccinations, etc.). Discuss menu & other details with caterer. Arrange the rehearsal dinner. Use a wedding planner if necessary. Book any necessary party-rentals (tents, linens, chairs, etc.) Buy thank-you gifts for attendants. 4 - 8 Weeks Before Mail invitations 8 weeks before the wedding. Select hair and makeup professionals and do trial runs (with headpiece). 2 - 4 Weeks Before Figure out reception seating arrangements. Confirm details with all service providers. Send wedding announcement and photo to newspapers (if desired). Final dress fittings. Write and send thank-you notes as gifts are received.

1 Week Before Place any final payments due on the wedding day in labeled envelopes. Be sure to write the total cost, minus any deposits, and balance due. Give caterer the final head count. Schedule personal grooming such as haircut, color, waxing, facial, manicure, pedicure, massage, etc. Pack for the honeymoon. The Day Before Greet out-of-town guests. Go for manicure/pedicure Wedding rehearsal and dinner (anywhere from 1-3 days prior to wedding is OK). Take a hot bath and de-stress Get a good night's sleep.   Happy Wedding Day!
